Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis Calculator
Introduction & Importance
Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is a safe, non-invasive method used to estimate body composition. It measures the resistance and reactance of the body to a small electrical current, providing insights into body water, fat mass, and lean body mass.
BIA calculation is crucial for understanding your body composition, tracking changes over time, and making informed decisions about your health and fitness.

Formula & Methodology
The BIA calculation used in this tool is based on the formula developed by Kyle et al. (2004):
Fat-Free Mass (FFM) = [Height^2 / Resistance] * (0.554 + (0.042 * Age) + (0.131 * Weight) + (0.095 * Gender)) – 4.102
Where Gender is 1 for males and 0 for females.
