Formula & Methodology
The lower heating value (LHV) of a gas can be calculated using the following formula:
LHV = Heat of Combustion – (Heat of Vaporization * Water Content)
Where:
- Heat of Combustion is the heat released when a gas is completely burned.
- Heat of Vaporization is the heat required to vaporize the water produced during combustion.
- Water Content is the amount of water produced during combustion.
